Passport Information

All US Citizens traveling by air in and out of the United States are required to present a valid US Passport at the point of BOOKING and to be carried when BOARDING aircraft.

EXCEPTION:  US Citizens traveling via Cruise Ships that port and return to the same US port can travel on their license and an original birth certificate (on an official US State Document).  If you are traveling to a Cruise Ship out side of the US, then you will be required to have an US Passport for that type of cruise travel. We do however recommend a US Passport for all cruise travel and this will be essential if you encounter any health issue or miss the ship.


All U.S. citizens including children must present a passport or secure travel document when entering the United States.

​​REAL I.D.  -  On May 7, 2025, U.S. travelers must be REAL ID compliant to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities.

Safeguard Your Documents! 

Make copies of all your travel documents.  Leave one copy with a trusted friend or relative and carry the other separately from your original documents.  Also take a photograph of your travel documents with your phone to have an electronic copy.

PASSPORT: Check your passport expiration dates as soon as you start planning a trip, and remember passports issued to children under 16 are only valid for only five years.  Some countries – including most of Europe – will require that your passport expiration date is at least six months away.  If you need a new passport, apply early to allow for delays; click here for passport information.

Routine: 6-8 weeks*

Expedited: 2-3 weeks and an extra $60*

*Consider the total time it will take to get a passport when you are booking travel. Processing times only include the time your application is at a passport agency or center.

  • It may take up to 2 weeks for applications to arrive at a passport agency or center. It may take up to 2 weeks for you to receive a completed passport after we print it.
